Over the past two years, I’ve really gotten into photography, specifically train photography. My brother and all of our friends in Buffalo are amazing photographers, with cover shots and published photos in books and magazines. Somehow, I’m lucky enough to join that club with this photo that was published in Trains Magazine for the month of August. For something that’s a hobby for me, it’s really cool to be recognized on such a national platform

When in doubt, hide behind the trussing. They’ll never see the bassist that way 🙈

No, keep singing Ross. I’ll keep looking for that fried dough vendor 🥮🍦 Joking aside, thank you to everyone who reached out to me in the past two weeks since my last post. It’s rejuvenated my passion again, and reminded me why I moved to Nashville: the people. I can’t say how grateful I am for everyone who contacted me. Y’all are seriously the best. Thank y’all so much!

This is one of my favorite photos of myself ever playing, and on the inside I was absolutely miserable. For the last ~18 months, I’ve lost my passion for music. Burnt. Fried. Absolutely shot.
Route 91 happened, Tom Petty died, and I’d gotten off the road after 2 months of touring started this mindset for me. Everything hit at once, and it’s been a deep hole for me to try and get myself out of. Couple that with a few opportunities that fell through, and it’s been a dark period for me.
That being said, and at the risk of being vulnerable on social media, I’ve hit the point of wanting to have fun playing again, and remembering why I loved it in the first place. I’ll probably never play with Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, or Planet X, but those were some of the musicians that inspired me to try and make a living out of this, and why for the next while, I want to have fun playing again.
I’ve become a hermit on here, and may continue to do so, but with how competitive this industry is, and has become, I’d rather all of this be known instead of hiding it like we all do/have done. Here’s to whatever happens before this ride might come to an end. Besides, I’d rather regret decisions that feel right in the moment, than wish I would’ve done them in the first place
